This is my own little corner of the internet where I'm free to host my nonsense and other nerdy shit without the limitations of modern social media. A place where I can be myself, and generally a happier person. Thanks for visiting, and enjoy your stay!
The Puzzle Bobble Everybubble Collector's Edition is now mine! Happy to finally have this in my possession after it was announced like... nearly 3 years ago lmao. I've been holding off on playing this game myself until I got this, and I've been having fun with it so far! The inclusion of Puzzle Bobble / Bust-A-Move SNES is awesome too, especially with all the filters and things you get!
I'm also finally getting ready to ship out my Secret Santa gift for the KLOV member! Shout-out to my 3D printer for breaking this month and causing me to have to delay the shipping longer than I wanted, but I don't want to wait too much longer out of fear it won't arrive by Christmas. I've yet to receive my package yet, but hopefully it's on the way!
I want to take a moment to talk about MyArcade because.... what the barnacles is going on over there. I've been following this company since 2019 when I first began getting back into retro gaming and collecting mini arcades, theirs included. Even back then they stood out to me compared to everyone else in the market at the time. I can't quite explain why even today, but something about their products felt kind of... unique in a sense. I think it had something to do with the barebone NES roms being used on what was otherwise a pretty solid and well build machine. The best at the time for the price if you ask me. The fact they had other things too like the Pocket Players made them stand out more in my eyes.
Then comes 2020 and it felt like they were finally beginning to learn from their past. Gone were the days of NES roms being used on most of their devices (with some exceptions here and there), and in came a new wave of machines with unique molds and hardware to make each one stand out more. I remember saving up my money to buy their Namco Museum device because holy shit, 20 games on a mini portable arcade, AND they use the arcade roms? What a deal! Looking back, that thing had LOADS of issues, even ones I noticed at the time. But it showed me they were at least TRYING to get better about giving people new, better things, and most importantly, showed they COULD indeed run arcade roms!
Around the middle of 2020, they release their Space Invaders cabinet, and when I tell you my jaw was dropped would be an understatement. To this day I maintain that is one of their best products. A machine that's nice and BEEFY, a lit marquee, proper joystick without the D-Pad nonsense, the yen coin, AND a version of Space Invaders damn near identical to the arcade rom WITH THE SCREEN REFLECTION STYLE USED ON ORIGINAL CABINETS? Holy FUCK. There were still downsides, the thumping was barely audibled and it didn't save high scores. But by and large this was the nail in the coffin for myself that this company was and COULD improve their products greatly compared to what we got prior.
The 40th Anniversary Pac-Man machine was a bit iffy, but I didn't HATE it. It was certainly an improvement over their original Pac-Man release with the NES rom, and the homebrew they had felt competent enough to satisfy my needs. Yeah the audio was a bit sucky, but that doesn't make or break anything for me personally. Their Contra and Street Fighter 2 machines were BIG hits for me as well! Even though the Street Fighter had several issues that were eventually fixed in later releases, it was great to finally see this company make mini arcades with unique builds, high score saving, and ARCADE ROMS! Or at least ones that tried to replicate the feel.
Now we come to the current wave of MyArcade machines which have been... decent... but boy have there been some WEIRD shit with some of these decisions. I don't want to get too detailed with all of these, so I'll quickly knock some out now. The Galaga stuff, AWESOME, I love that it seems to be a rewrite of the games even including the kill screen! Pole Position, GREAT! Once again a unique machine mold WITH arcade roms and high score saving! Ms. Pac-Man, a unique homebrew running Genesis hardware just like their older Pac-Man stuff. Odd, but wasn't the worst thing ever and was just nice to see her again. Pac-Man, once again the Genesis homebrew, but updated a bit to try and fix some things. Also odd since we know they CAN replicate and play arcade roms on their machines, but ok maybe it was just an older version they wanted to put out since they already had it on-hand, whatever. Still decent and alright.
And then..... the current line of Pac-Man stuff. This is where I begin to question WHAT is happening right now. It starts with the Pac-Man Joystick Player. This version was updated to try and fix some issues people had with the gameplay on the other device. Problem is.... it kind of created MORE issues in the process. The "1 PLAYER ONLY" text is orange like the "PUSH START BUTTON". Weird, that wasn't there before. At the start of each round, Pac-Man's sprite starts with the mouth open instead of closed. This tells me they took some of the code for Ms. Pac-Man and applied it back without correcting certain things. The worst of all, BLINKY STARTS FACING RIGHT AND GOES 𝗨𝗣 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗧. Like YEAH the ghost go to the correct corners now, but this just feels so much worse to me than before. Especially since... ahem... they CAN USE arcade roms and rewrite of the roms. Why not just.... DO THAT HERE? It feels like they're putting themselves through more trouble fixing this one version of the game from 2018 instead of just using the original game and saving a MASSIVE headache.
Then comes the new line of 45th Anniversary Mighty Player, and Pocket Player Max. When these were first shown off I got REALLY excited! A ton of games including Super Pac-Man AND Pac-Land? A game that has NEVER been released on one of these mini devices before? It looked very promising, even though the screen size was less than ideal and they USED the Genesis Pac-Man picture again. I just hoped that those were placeholders, and early molds that would be fixed later on. Then comes the product listing page.... where several of the games got cut. I don't know WHY that was the case, I'm sure it could've handled them, but if I had to guess the games that were removed were horizontal titles, not vertical, which is what the screen size was. Very disappointing to me, but ok there still are a good handful of games included. I'll wait for it to release and see how it looks through videos.
....Holy shit dude. We're STILL using the FUCKING Genesis rom?? THIS HARDWARE 𝗛𝗔𝗦 ARCADE ROMS ON IT WITH PAC-MAN PLUS, SUPER PAC-MAN, AND PAC AND PAL! WHY ARE WE STILL DOING THIS MYARCADE. And look, I'm all for remakes and unique versions of the game made from scratch. They're fun to compare and is why I didn't mind their older machines using this. But this version has ran its course and THEN some. It's time to let it go! On another note, WHY put this version on the Atari Gamestation Go? You had to have KNOWN people weren't going to take kindly to that which is why it was replaced with the arcade rom in a later update. I and many others are SO tired of this version now. You CAN do arcade roms, you've done them ON the SAME device that USES THEM! Which doesn't even save high scores unlike their other releases this year which was just great, awesome. Just..... fucking stop man. Give us what we want and what we KNOW you can do.
Also have I mentioned this Genesis version is broken? No really, I don't know if it was fixed after the Joystick Player release, but not long into the key stages you just stop moving. No more gameplay, just forced to sit and watch your remaining lives get lost.
Despite how much of a disaster their recent Pac-Man stuff are, I DO think this company can still make banger products as seen with their other offerings, and they DO seem to listening to feedback.... sometimes. I'm still going to be keeping an eye on what they do next, but fucking hell man, please get your shit together. If having to update the Atari Gamestation Go with the proper game people want isn't a sign that we don't want this Genesis shit anymore, I don't know what is. Please do better. Please.
I've decided this year to participate in my first online Secret Santa Exchange on KLOV! I got the address and information for my Secret Santa, and am now gathering all the information I can for what they like. It's been pretty fun! Honestly a nice way to interact with the community more.
In other news, I got around to creating a Beast Bendy render for the Bendy.gg wiki yesterday! As someone who isn't entirely familiar with Blender still and needed some help, this was still lots of fun to make! I might look at doing more for other characters and items in the future who don't have anything. At least assuming I can learn how to rip models and files lmao.
I finally found some proper gel overlay pieces for my Space Invaders cabinet about a week ago, and got them applied yesterday! Since mine didn't come with any when I purchased it I had to improvise and make my own out of transparent color tape instead. It did the job, but having these reproductions make it look SO much nicer! One day I'd love to make a new page dedicated to my restoration on this machine as a whole, because hooolly shit has it been through hell and back.
HALLOWEEN!! My favorite holiday in the whole year, good to see you again. Aside from having a sore eye later in the day, not a bad one all things considered! Got to wear my Projectonist mask during work which was awesome, and played some games with friends!
Of course though, THE CAAAAGEEE!!! Fuuuccck I'm happy to see this project again! Lots of changes which I am not at all against. A lot of the creature designs from the teaser look SICK, and apparently it's rated M?? I'm VEERRY happy to see that honestly! Third person mode sounds like a very interesting take, too. I'm eager to see gameplay whenever that comes around!
THAW.....
Ohhh man, so much happening at the moment it almost feels overwhelming, but like in a good way (at least for now lmao). I finally bit the bullet and got myself the JJ-CBOX PRO for my arcade PCBs. A couple small issues when first getting it up and running, but I'm now happy to say it all works great! I can finally play my arcade boards again!!
In addition to that, I've been having some 3D printer issues with my figures that I've been trying for a while to get fixed, and I finally accomplished that as well! At least I hope. Haven't gotten to test a full print at the time of writing this, but here's hoping!
And lastly, I've found myself doing A LOT of work over on the new Bendy wiki! Mainly with the merchendice section. I've been working to help add images, create new pages, and help expand on pre-existing information wherever I see room. Today I just got done gathering images, and creating the page for the "T-Shirts"! It's honestly been really fun, if a little time consuming. But I look forward to continuing to help contribute however I can!
Happy first day of Autumn, my favorite season in the year! The cool air, the leaves turning colors, the pumpkin treats, I love it all! Definitely going to be doing more walks to really take in the surroundings and enjoy the weather. Plus, HALLOWEEN! Fuck I love Halloween.
In other news, I've been thinking lots about doing an Etsy shop for a few months, and I think I might pull it off! I'm thinking about selling 3D printed arcade stuff that I've been doing for a while, including mini figures, wall outlets, and magnets! Hopefully it all works out. I don't plan on making this my main source of income or anything, but as something to have on the side I think it'd be fun!
With the ending of Lone Wolf being revealed, and upon a bit of thinking, I came up with a theory I wanted to share.
We know now that there's a machine that can take people back into the real world, which is likely what Wilson used himself. However given this game takes place during Dark Revival, and Boris was in the process of building it, if Wilson truly did use this machine there would have to be multiple. That or he built a different one himself. We also know thanks to The Archives in Dark Revival that Wilson going back and forth the two worlds "took a toll on his physical being"
With that said... what if the same thing happened to Boris before Wilson. Or in this case... Buddy.
What if "The man Boris once was" was him before entering the cycle, and somehow he was able to go back and forth which took a toll on his physical being, slowly turning him into Boris and trapping him in the cycle until he became part of it completely. We already know Wilson was able to do this, and take control of the narrative that happened within this world thanks to having the knowledge he did and utilizing things like The Keepers to keep stuff in order.
What if Boris (Buddy) was simply too weak, and or inexperienced to fight back, and the world took advantage of that. Turning him into a helpless wolf who couldn't speak or defend himself until Alice ultimately got to him. But thanks to Wilson freezing the story of Bendy and the Ink Machine, those events never play out and he would soon have learnt how to fight and save himself. Leading to the ending of Lone Wolf where he succeeds and finally escapes back into the real world where he came from many years ago.
It's now been a little over a week since the release of Lone Wolf and I felt like now would be a good time to say my thoughts on it.
I loved it! Of course I did come on now.
It's exactly what I wanted, Boris and the Dark Survival with new things and a proper story to go along with it. Improvements to the gameplay with things like combat and different weapons to build up from was great! I love shit like that a lot.
I don't think it's 100% perfect though. Sometimes the combat can be a bit wonky, some locations could've benefited from a few extra spots to generate so they don't feel so repetitive, and the DAMN claw machine RNG can take a hike.
But given that this was just a smaller project to the main things being cooked up right now, I think it does it's job well! I'm also VERY happy we got to see The Keepers capture the old gang through it all. That was one of my biggest wants and it delivered! The ending too I think was very interesting and sets up A LOT of potential things going forward!
At the time of writing this, I'm two achievements away from getting them all. The hard mode (which I'm saving for last), and getting all the arcade plushies (the RNG is fucking killing me on this). But I think this is something I'll take a little longer to fully complete so I don't feel like I'm rushing through it all right away.
Overall I'm very happy with this game! Very happy they updated the Ink Demon run also. I didn't totally HATE the old one, but it looked so goofy LMFAO.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT'S HAPPENING THE NEWZEALAND STORY IS BACK FUCCCKKK DUDEE!! ALMOST 20 YEARS WITHOUT A NEW GAME AND THEY'RE FINALLY BACK!! THEY DID MY BOY SO MUCH JUSTICE I LOVE THE ART SO MUCH AND THE LIKELY NEW ENEMIES ARE SO COOL TOO HOLY SHIT I NEED TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THIS! I HAVEN'T CRIED OVER A NEW GAME ANNOUCMENT IN SUCH A LONG TIME BUT THIS DID IT! I'M SO EXCITED AAHRHRFVSEHVJDJ!!!!!!!!!!
Lone Wolf tomorrow Lone Wolf tomorrow Lone Wolf tomorrow Lone Wolf tomorrow Lone Wolf tomorrow it's almost here oooohHhHHH it's so close.... I will be inactive pretty much all day playing as much of this game as I can.... it's so close.... Lone Wolf tomorrow.....
Finally back from Supernova. I had a fun time there as a whole myself, getting to see my friends and particapating in the activities is always a blast! Got to set some good high scores in the arcade, and see some of my online pals there too which was a lot of fun... :)
The one thing I did not expect was to WIN THE COSTUME CONTEST FOR BEST GROUP! I'm so glad the hard work my friends and I did paid off in the end, and we got to showcase something special! Lots of pictures and hugs all around, it was awesome, and everyone there was so kind to interact with! Hopefully next year we can improve them little by little to be even better.
I overall enjoyed sitting down to watch the games, but fuck dude I forgot just how bad the Smash community can be. Anyone who participated in the harassment towards players like Onin reek and I hope you take multiple long showers while reevaluating your life choices to this point. I like to get involved with the crowds, but next year I think I'll be out of the picture more to not get mixed in with these freaks. I wish Onin and everyone else affected the best going forward!
That's about it. I hope next year can be a good time for EVERYONE, and I get to make new memories along the way!
Happy Supernova Eve!! Boy do I have a busy day ahead with finishing my friend's costume and touching up my own, as well as generally getting prepared for the next few days. But I'm sure it'll all be worth it! Best case scenario is I pass out from exhaustion later and wake up in the morning fully rested and ready to go!
Now time for one of my usual feral ramblings DUUUDEE THE PROJECTONIST IS BACK IN LONE WOLF FUUUCK YES THE BEST CHARACTER RETURNS!! If this game truly does take place during Dark Revival I wonder how bro is still walking around and not... you know... a decapitated head. Unless that happens later on which would actually be sick, seeing the Keepers take the old cast hostage in real time would be awesome! Also I'm VERY VERY happy to see Gwen enemies again! I love those little guys and am so happy they're being utilized more! This game CANNOT come soon enough.....
I finally have all of the items for Jakks Pacific's new wave of Bendy stuff (besides the second mystery bag series, but I have no idea when that'll release). Overall I think this was a solid wave with some good variety, but some small misses.
The highlight for me was definitely the Lone Wolf Crane Game mini plushies! I fucking LOVE these things, and the packaging was really fun too! One day I hope they make a full size version of them, maybe with a softer fabric like the first wave of their plushies.
Then there's the Butcher Gang wave 4 figures, which I feel could've been better. I don't completely hate them, but it really felt like they dropped the quality a bit. Mainly due to the fact that none of their hands can move up and down, and the heads are locked to moving left and right only, compared to the full movement the previous wave had. I could maybe see why Barley did that because of his big beard, but Charley and Edgar should've had that feature no problem. Besides that, I don't HATE how these figures look (Barley was kind of scuffed though), but I do wish they had more time in the oven to cook. Edgar was the best one, I love his little toy duck a lot and how it actually rolls around! Charley's cash register being able to open up too was cute.
The Alice plush was pretty decent as well! Nothing ground breaking or anything, but she fits well with Bendy and Boris' plushies, and that's all I wanted. The mini Butcher Gang figure pack I think was awesome, and in some way I kind of prefer them to the wave 4 figures. For being more chibi versions of the trio they look really solid, and I adore Edgar's little >:D face a lot!
All in all I didn't hate this set, I just wish the wave 4 figures got more justice. But even then, they weren't PhatMojo levels of bad, and I could at least pose them well, so that counts for something.
PAC-MAN WORLD 2 RE-PAC IS REAL HOLY SHIT!! IT LOOKS SO FUCKING GOOD THE NEW GRAPHICS AND GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE FIRST RE-PAC ARE SO WELCOMED! PAC-MAN HAVING A VOICE AGAIN IS COOL I THINK AND THE OWL BOSS LOOKS AWESOME HOOLLY SHIT I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!!!
It's finally happened. I caved and decided to begin collecting as many of the old PhatMojo Bendy figures as possible to expand my collection. I know things like the Dead Boris and Yellow Ink Bendy are costly as hell, but to be honest I don't see myself being as aggressive with getting these as I was with stuff like the plushies. Mainly because I always thought these figures looked very cheap and impossible to pose, and now that I have a good handful of them, I can say my suspicious were confirmed.
I guess they aren't the WORST thing in the world, and a select few aren't that bad. But overall I felt very underwhelmed. Especially with the Dark Revival set, like why can't none of them bend their arms and legs like the previous ones could (besides Sammy whose mold was just a slightly modified version from their other set). They feel so stiff. I'll never get over how tall Vesty's legs are too, it almost feels like he has human proportions which scares me. And don't even get me started on the glow in the dark alt figures.
Bless Jakks Pacific for stepping in and picking up the pace with their line of merch.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and gifts! My sister and I had a great few days full of family, friends, and sushi. A wonderful time all around! A special thank you to my mom and her friend for baking our cakes, and knocking it out of the park with my Pac-Man cocktail cabinet design!
The special day is here! Happy birthday to me, but ALSO happy birthday to my wonderful sister! We've got lots of things planned for the next few days, and I'm sure we're going to enjoy it all to the max!
So much happening both this month and next, holy shit. With Supernova inching closer and closer, I've been helping out my friends in making some costumes to wear for the convention, which has been a fun process! But boy is it time consuming.
My birthday right around the corner too has got me working on quite a few things for that day to post here! And with the new Bendy game releasing next month AS WELL as Toree Saturn, I'm going to be a very busy bee.
Also side tangent, but man I sure do love having my supergun potentially break on me, and now I'm forced to cough up lots of money to buy a new one in the hopes that my arcade PCBs will finally display properly. Fuuuunnn......
LONE WOLF TRAILER TOMORROW IT'S HAPPENING IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING OOOOOOOHH I'M ABOUT TO BE SO ANNOYING THE NEXT FEW DAYS! LONE WOLF TRAILER TOMORROW!!
Just got back from M3GAN 2.0. A lot more action packed and less horror than the original, but a fun watch nonetheless! I'm very happy too with how they expanded upon the characters and world from the first movie. That was a welcome addition. Got a few good laughs out of me as well!
NEW BUTCHER GANG MERCH HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT EDGAR LOOKS SO PINCHABLE I LOVE THEM THE CLAW MACHINE IS SUCH A FUN IDEA I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW THAT LOOKS IN THE FINAL PRODUCT AND FINALLY A PROPER CARTOON ALICE PLUSH FOR THE MAIN TRIO HOLY FUCK
Thank you for all the kind messages and support I've recived since launch! I'm so glad my hard work was able to pay off.
I've had some people ask about how I went about making this site. Everything you see was coded from scratch using html and css, and was my first time learning how to do so! I then picked a service provider and got all my files hosted through there. I fully plan on expanding certain pages and adding new ones down the road, but for now I'd like to take a break from coding and finally get back to work on my other projects I've put on hold since making this. Once again, thank you everyone for taking the time to check this place out, and for all the comments I've gotten regarding it! ^^
Website launched!!! This is the beginning of a fantastic adventure. Finally a place on the internet I can truly call my own.
Apologies in advanced for any potential jank on mobile. This site was not made with phones in mind, and getting them compatible was a last minute change. I did try my best, though, given my current limited html knowledge!
